MY DUCK ATE A SNAKE

My duck waddles ate a snake! It was a small black one. Is she going to be ok? She is doing fine.

I ate a rattlesnake once. It did not taste like chicken. Anyway, I didn't suffer any ill effects, so your duck will likely be just fine in spite of there not being much meat on a snake. They are mostly bones. Hardly worth the effort.

Yeah...I'm not sure if it's dangerous to eat a venomous snake or not, but if the snake wasn't venomous then I doubt you have anything to worry about. Most snakes in the US aren't, but I know of at least one black water snake that is which is why I'm wondering where you are.

I'm sure they've got some kind of resistance to the venom, like the grasshopper mouse and scorpions (they are also awesome).

But the more I think about it the more I think that the snake I was referring to isn't black when it's small, so if we're talking North America it was probably some kinda ratsnake.

If you bite it and it kills you, it's poisonous. If it bites you and it kills you, it's venomous

If you are in the US and it was a small enough snake to be eaten by a duck, it was probably a harmless ring necked snake or one of its worm snake relatives.

If the snake had a white stripe, it should be fine.

My ducks ate a poor garter snake once. 5 years later the ducks are still alive. I don't know what kind of snake yours ate and what the consequences could be from that type.
