My Duck ate Styrofoam! Help

Thank you . Anything special I should be looking for?
Exceptional buoyancy? Sry, couldn’t resist, do whatever @Isaac 0 said, did they fund it at the edge if your house ? I guess id try to eliminate the exposure for the future. Mine were obsessed with the tarp that formed the bottom of their brooder, So i can see them being drawn to it.

I’m hoping that all is well with your crew today! A couple years back, a wind storm blew someone’s styrofoam cooler into my yard without me noticing. My ducks demolished a lot of it before I could grab the remains. They pooped styrofoam for a couple of days, but that was the extent of it! They still have an obsession with anything made of styrofoam. My husband once thought he could store a couple of foam insulation boards in the barn. The ducks thought it was Christmas! Sigh...

There has been a huge block of Styrofoam in our backyard that we used in the lake. The kids would lay on it. It’s as big as a mattress and I always see the ducks going down there nibbling on it and I thought well they must be eating, moss or fungus or something that’s growing on it. We’ve had it for years and the weather got so cold here that I got some Styrofoam coolers and filled them up with water because the pond is frozen And behold, they’re chewing up the Styrofoam like it’s candy!
