A while ago I caught my white call duck Munchkin having what I thought was a seizure. After some research, I decided it was a niacin deficiency and she has been getting sunflowers seeds/spinach for that. But she still has been having this problem where all of a sudden she can't hold her head up. Today was a particular concern because it happened when she was swimming in the bathtub-- I think she nearly drowned. I picked her up and her whole body was limp. She gets regular chicken crumble and has water available always. It weird because one second she can't hold her head up and the next she seems almost fine... she'll start drying off her feathers but all of a sudden she goes limp again. Any ideas of what this could be?

I would bring her to a vet but the closest one that takes ducks is four hours away and also closed today

Another weird thing is that I found a white egg today--both my white calls lay green eggs so maybe that unrelated but who knows.

The best thing is to take her/him to the vet and while u can't right now, keep shallow water near the duck that isn't deep enough to drown in but the duck can still drink... Keep an eye on it!

If you think it is a niacin defiency, you need to offer something more than just treats like a liquid b complex or brewers yeast.
What are you feeding her? Chicken crumble does not have enough niacin if any, so you would definitely have to add it to her diet via a supplement.

Welcome to BYC! Is your duck able to drink water? What does her poop look like? Can you post pictures of her and her poop and how about a video of her? To post video upload to youtube or vimeo then copy/paste the link here.

Put a pinch of tumeric in the food for your duck, it's supposed to help with the floppy head when chicks r hatched and can't hold their head up so I bet it'll help with this!!!
