I was outside when I noticed 1 of my ducks were missing. We went to the creek and she was standing there staring. I picked her up which she never lets us do and carried her to the others. She was only 1-1/2 yrs old. She had a Drake who she never separated from and her 4 babies which are 14 weeks now. They all gathered around sencing something wasn’t right . I took her up and put her in her pen and she walked inside . About 10 minuted later she had what I thought was a seizure and died. The thing is we had another duck that did the same thing last year. Do they died that quick from seizures? Or do they do the same thing when they have a stroke?? I am so heartbroken. The drake just laid by her so sad. We have 3 other females and 1 male but are only 14 wks. Do I need to worry about hm mating with them?

Thank you. I am concerned now because I always had her (Charlie ) in the same coop with Daisy (the drake ) and the babies in a separate coop at night. During the day they mingled. The babies are 14 weeks will they be ok with Daisy our drake? The babies are 3 females and 1 male.

Awww man, that's awful! I am really sorry! You're ducklings and drake should be ok together, considering that they are 14 weeks! Although I don't know what your ducks are like. Good luck!

I'd watch closely and if you see any sexual behavior from your drake go back to separating them again until they are at least 20 weeks. Or when you see sexual behavior out of your 14 week olds.

Very sorry for your loss.
Thank you
