My Duck Disappeared!

What water options do your ducks have available? If it was 104 degrees and your ducks are flying breeds with unclipped wings, she very well may have tried to find a deeper source of water to cool off.
I️ have 4 large tubs of water filled for them as an available water source. Definitely deep enough for the to swim in. We do have neighbors with pools, so I️ was planning on putting up missing flyers just in case. I️ have also been checking in with the local Regional Animal Services.
Thank you!

Depending on the breed and the season, you can expect your first eggs when your ducks are 4-7 months old, or when breeding season starts. Ducksmature and become old enough to layat 4-7 months or 16-28 weeks of age.
They are 4 months old this month and I️ have already caught her and the males breeding. Not sure if that means she’s been laying eggs or not. I’d definitely rather find her in 28 days with babies over having to deal with a predator problem.
Thank you!

Nevada has a ton of potential predators, not having seen them is generally the point for them, that doesnt mean you dont have them in the area. I've only actually SEEN a skunk that wasnt road kill twice in my life, but they're for sure out there everywhere I've lived. Never seen a possum but they're out there. Staying hidden is half their job.

Foxes, coyotes, wolves, bobcats/mountain lions, eagles falcons and hawks... they'll all more than happily take off with a duck. No blood or feathers might just mean they got her quick and easy, took off instead of sticking around. Or she may have wandered. Hopefully the latter.
That makes sense. We have seen coyotes on the property during the day before, probably means the come when we aren’t looking as well. I’m still a little confused that the males didn’t
a) take off with her
b) get eaten by a predator as well
Or
c) get duck-napped by a human as well

They are still acting like all is well with the world and that nothing is missing, even though when Bonnie was with them she was the center of attention. Though they do seem even more excited to see me now anytime I’m outside.
Thank you!

When my ducks breed they are usually laying or just about to start.

Ok good to know, I️ won’t rule out the broody idea yet then. They boys have been making their courtship noises for several weeks now. Who knows, maybe one day I’ll get home and she’ll be there waiting 🤷🏻‍♀️
Thank you!

So Hypothetically, if she did mangage to get eggs together and start sitting on them,
• Where do ducks like to make nests?
I️ don’t have a pond, so she can’t be in grass around a pond.
• How often do ducks come of the nest?
• Would she socialize with the drakes off of the nest?
• I️s September way to late for broody ducks?
• How long would she sit on the eggs for, until they at hatched?

Thanks!
