my duck egg is internally pipped at day 23...

I have already figured out what went wrong I thought my secondary thermometer was correct when in fact the incubator thermometer was right so I accidentally incubated them at around 101 instead of 99 degrees... This is the only reason I can think of why they would be trying to hatch so early... Has anyone else done this? Is there any hope for these guys? I can hear peeps and see the internally pipped one wobbling a little no external pips yet though. Any advice would be great, also should I drop the temp? They are now in lockdown so I haven't dropped the temp yet any help from anyone would be appreciated

No problem I breed chickens so i have seen some weird hatching times like 10 days late.

Wow that's crazy! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, at least now I know my incubator is more accurate than I thought, at least I think that's what happened. It would be super cool to have an easter duckling too

I can tell you one thing ducks are harder to hatch than chickens.

Well I remember in high school I incubated 13 shipped duck eggs and had 12/13 hatch rate it sucks it was so long ago I don't remember exactly what I did cuz I know that's an incredibly good hatch rate for shipped eggs from what I understand... Do you by chance know about how long it should take to go from internal pip to external pip?

I know it was still air incubator no fan, no egg turner, (turned by hand) and I misted them with a spray bottle once a day, I don't remember what I kept the temp or humidity at though oh well lol

Hi. I just candled a couple of my duck eggs and just like you I was shocked to see an internal pip! It's day 24 for me. What breed of duck are your eggs? I know that generally speaking the smaller the breed, the faster they hatch. I believe from internal to external pip is between 24-48 hours. I'm not exactly an expert though.
