If you don't have stiches you can use a regular needle and thread I have had to do this in the past just make sure you alcohol the thread and needle pull the skin together and pretend you are sewing a pillow case shut one stitch at a time . Just put the needle through both skin sides and pull it together and make a knot , cut the thread and go about 1/4" over make another , and another until the wound is closed! this is all I know to tell you .

I would not get his whole body wet because he could get chilled, I would get him out of the tub.

This usually never happened before until last night I heard my ducks start quacking and caught my step dads puppy in the middle of it. if you can get some blucote, that's done wonders for my chickens with injuries before. It'll stain their feathers until they molt, but it's the best wound spray I've tried- it should be at tractor supply if you have access to one. It'll at the very least disinfect it. I saw someone else recommended stitches- I've never tried that with any of mine, but depending on the wound that could be a very good idea, or even if you can secure it with butterfly sutures or something similar. I really wish I could help more
If he's up and walking, he's at least willing to keep going and heal. Keeping him safe and isolated where you can watch him is definitely good. I'd also suggest giving him softer, more nutrient rich foods- my go to is boiled egg yolk mixed with regular food and warm water.

I had to do this when I was eight years old because vets were not an option and I think it changed me for the better because it worked . I then became more confident . I hope I don't offend any one with my advise . Sometimes I don't explain good enough .

Okay I am no expert but stop the bleeding take guaze pads and then put them over the wound. Then take a roll of the medical tape (not the sticky kind) and then wrap it around their whole body. Do not let that body area get in the water and I guess take them to the vet. How deep is the cut?

That's very expensive. Chlorhexidine is less expensive and works better.
