My duck has an eye infection!

Hi there,
"Drake", my Mallard duck has had a crusty eye infection, bilateral for a few weeks. He is pretty wild, but I did catch him the other day. I gently rinsed his eyes under the faucet with Luke warm water. I couldn't get all of the crust out. I did see that both eyeballs are clear. He seemed to enjoy the rinse. He looks a little better after the rinse...he won't let me get near enough to take a picture, however. there any eye drops/ointment for ducks? I am still trying to find mate for him. Thank you!

Terramycin eye ointment is a good one can be bought at many feed stores and on line if it’s respiratory though he may need an antibiotic also.
