What did you do in the garden today?

Scattered storms all over the state today... All of them seem to be missing me. Grrrrrr... When I watered yesterday, I forgot to water the lemon tree. All the leaves are curled and about to fall off. I'll have to go out this evening and give it a drink since Mother Nature is not in an accommodating mood apparently.

That sucks I’m sorry. Hopefully the lemon tree is just being dramatic and is all good after some water

It’s probably getting close to being too late in the season but I am planting some potatoes because we have a bunch in our pantry doing nothing and I only have 4 planted currently

DH bought me the large harvest right. Costco, epic deal.

My neighbor up the street works for FedEx freight and delivered it this morning. I gave him a dozen eggs.

Getting some heavy rain finally. The garden needed it.

Heavy rain about 20 miles away. Nary a drop here. A couple more "good" chances in the next 7 days. We'll see if any pan out.

As a hedge, I watered the heavy soil garden today. Man, is that clay getting dry and hard where I didn't water. I put the water right at the base of the plants so that the plant gets most of it.

I try to do a "bug hunt" every day. At least I go through the potato patch and squish the potato bug larvae. Yes, I wear gloves, because... ewwww....!

The asparagus beetles are winding down. The Japanese beetles are everywhere. The Beatles were a famous foursome.

My black raspberry season is almost over. I think the wild black raspberries in my yard are not very good (no berry flavor and sour), so birds barely touch them and I just feed them to chickens. Not even all chickens like it.

Mine are picky about consistent water. To dry small hard, too wet no taste.

I may need to move it somewhere it will get shade in the afternoon. It's easily lost at least a third of its leaves and all the baby lemons smaller than a quarter are dropping off. It's definitely stressed....
