  • 'Ducky door' in large door

  • 3 flower pots
  • Hardware wire sides
  • Garland with fairy lights on roof
  • Grass area
  • Pool/pond
  • Metal bottom
  • Grass area on bottom

  • 6 feet tall (At highest point)
  • 4 1/2 feet tall (at lowest point)
  • 10 feet long
  • 4 feet wide
  • Grass area is 7 feet long
  • Ducky door is 2 feet tall

So, after realizing I couldn't dig the pool in the ground I thought it'd be best to have it raised off the ground and cut a hole in the bottom for the pool, and just put wood on the sides with a ramp for the ducks.

Anyway, I have a few questions
  1. Would a metal bottom be ok? (Grass on top)
  2. Is this big enough for 2 Welsh Harlequin hens? (I could make it bigger if needed)
  3. Would a 1 foot deep pool/pond be ok?
  4. Do they need a bigger covered space for eggs? (It's by the door)
  5. How can I safely free range them in the day? (There are possums, snakes, rats, and sometimes hawks)

I will chime in on the wire bottom not a good idea on duck feet.

We are currently incubating WH and cant wait, The coop looks really good and i think its good the way it is, Might save those photos so we can think of something like that, How many ducks would be in that?

How exciting!! You'll have to send lots of pictures! I intend on having two hens but if you wanted to make it a bit bigger you could have more

I will when they hatch! i cant wait😊 Are you planning on incubating your ducklings? we are incubating 5 and im keeping 2 and my sister is keeping 3 and i need some cute names😂

I'm not sure if I'm going to incubate or get them elsewhere yet. This will be my first time owing poultry so I'm a noob but I'm leaning towards incubating though it will take extra research. For girls, I like the names Willow, Tulip, Lily, April, Violet, Blossom, Poppy, Thalia, and Callie. Floral or springy (is that a word?) names are my favorite. These were some of the names I was thinking of when naming my Yorkie, Rosie, who's birthday was just yesterday.
