My duck is a psycho, I’m ready to lose it!

Never feel bad because not everyone is a Duck person.. I love the silly Birds and prefer them over the Chickens. Do what ever makes you happy. Owning Birds should be relaxing. Not you crying and throwing flip flops at them..:gig
Anyways I wish you the best on your decision...:frow

Could something be visiting it every night/early morning? A raccoon, opossum, owl, etc.?

From my understanding you don’t let it out when it starts quacking, right? If you are letting it out, you shouldn’t, because that would reinforce that quacking means it gets let out or that you come visit it.

Ignore it? See if she stops- I know this may not be favorable for your neighbors but if you want to keep your duck and don’t want to rehome you’ll have to “train” it not to quack....

So I tried putting the ducks in a large wooden box I use as a brooder for the past two nights. I covered the top which is chicken wired with a light cloth to block out sunlight but keep airflow. I was shocked when at 8 am, still no quacking! They went about their normal routine of laying in the early morning without a single peep. Problem solved I guess?
