My Duck Is Hurt..Need Help

hello,
I am new to this site..I recently purchased two ducklings on August 16th.
today i noticed that one of my duck has a cut in between its separate toe..how can I help fix it? is there anything i can do to help him or will he heal it himself?? please help..i am really worried.

I haven't been a duck owner long. But it is important to keep it clean. I would order some shoes from Nettie at Indoor Ducks. I would also soak it in an iodine solution several times a day and pat it dry. I use Povidone Iodine 10% solution It is a topical antiseptic bactericide. Put some Neosporin on it without the pain relief. Maybe other people have a suggestion for keeping it dry. I use Nettie's neoprene shoes. They are the best. It is pretty hard to keep a duck's foot clean unless you cover it with something. This is the way I treat my adult duck's feet.

Just keep it clean and dry. I would not wrap it unless it is really bad, because it heals better with air touching it. Same for the shoes, because they are not letting air through. Watch out for swelling or heat development, because that could be a sign of an infection setting in. A little bit of neosporin may be all needed. My ducks get injuries on their back toes all the time. Cracked or broken off nails are all to common. It usually heals fast all by itself.

If you have blu kote or aluma shield I would spray it on to keep it protected. Any kind of liquid bandage would also work, just not as good.

I try to keep it clean as much as possible..the place they sleep, gets cleaned every day..and the place they spend their day gets cleaned every day.

I am using dry grass for them to sit on..or rest..they seem to enjoy laying there..but some people are telling me not to put dry grass as it might injure them..what is your take on this??

About the injury..
well..if you can imagine our hand as their foot..our four fingers as their webbed feet..and our thumb as their separate toe. between our finger and our thumb there is nothing but skin..
and same with the ducks..its that skin where the duck has a cut..i have no idea how he got it..

but like you guys said..i will apply neosprin on the wound..and will hope it gets better soon.
