Hello, i have a male mallard duck that’s almost a year old. He likes to play with me and follow me around, he does to the same to my dad. But weirdly when I pet him he doesn’t like it. Only the belly u can pet, he will allow you to do that but why he doesn’t like to be pet around his body?

Thank you for the warm welcoming. My duck seems to like me and my dad, but he attacks my brother and my mom (just bitting their feet) is this normal duck behavior?

Most likely because he is a drake.
I don't know much about ducks, but....so drakes are more likely to 'attack' only half of the human family members?

Well, it sounds like they are treating it like a pet and not a farm animal. So, it finds fancy with the OP and the dad and not the other family members. It is trying to "run off" the others. It is treating the 2 like mates and the others it wants no business with. ;)
Or it is just being a bossy drake and running them off because it wants them to leave him or his area alone.

I should have elaborated. If they want the agressiveness to stop, they will have to put the drake in its place.

Most likely he is being dominant towards your other family members and has imprinted on you and your dad. Are you the ones that spend the most time with him?
