my duckling ate something she wasn't supposed to!

Yes, please keep us updated! I haven't noticed it in her poop but then again I have two in the same pen and there is a lot of poop by morning. The piece of balloon swallowed just happened to be green. So honestly I'm not sure if it passed... Hoping all goes well with your little duckling.
goodness I have 1 and by morning there is definitely tons of poop I couldn't imagine 2! I will update in the morning for sure . And that is so weird cause the balloon she ate was also green 0_o twighlight moment

ok I get what chew means now haha thank you :) it's so crazy because I know ducks in the wild probably eat stuff they shouldn't and I assume they are fine because I've never seen any dead ducks ever but oh my we comb our yard daily too and I guess it just takes a second of not paying attention and bam she seems ok it still hasn't passed but she is pooping regularly and is in her playpen right now I will keep y'all updated if anything changes

Wow! This is just too strange! They must be attracted to green... But still how weird is that?

They're definitely attracted to green. My pajamas are a bright green plaid color, and they LOVE chewing on the sleeves. They'll come running up to me if I'm wearing them, just to nibble on the sleeves.

That is so funny they like your green pj's! I guess after I thought about it, it would make sense they would be attracted to green being most vegetation is green... Lol! But the pajama thing is really cute!

Ok guys so here's a little update, duckie is doing great still eating drinking playing sleeping and pooping like normal I have been finding small green objects in poop so I am assuming the balloon broke apart in transition thank you for recommending using grit seemed to work well

Thanks for the update... So glad she's doing fine! Scary experience but a lesson learned for both of us. Just thankful we both had good outcomes! :)

a great lesson, good to know they are super attracted to green too we will not be having any small green toys outdoors for sure . I'm so happy your ducks are doing great as well

My ducklings always nibbled on anything green - so, a word to the wise for those reading this from the archives - be careful.

So so so so so relieved to read it appears to be passing through in small bits.
