My duckling has a bald neck! What do I do?

I've got a 6 day old Cayuga X duckling that I'm hand rearing as it's the only one and it's started to lose its down on its neck. It keeps itching a lot and has a head wound caused by a Pekin bantam that lives with its broody surrogate. I'm treating the head wound and it's healing up nicely but the neck is concerning me. It sits on my chest and preens to buggery whilst shedding these little black "eyelashes" and becoming increasingly naked any ideas? It hasn't had a bath yet because I've been trying to keep the head wound dry. Maybe that's it? ‍ I've raised countless ducklings over the years and even I'm baffled Help would be much appreciated
