Hi there
I have two khaki Campbell ducklings that are six weeks old. One of them runs around in circles and quacks when me or the other duckling are about 10 to 5 meters away from it. It seems like it can't seem to see either of us and begins panicking it also does this when it is swimming sometimes. It has been doing it since it has hatched out of the egg. It eats and drinks fine and when it is next to me or the other duckling it is fine. I have been feeding them brewers yeast and flax seeds into their feed to see if it improves. But I'm still not sure what it is.. the other duckling is healthy and seems to have no problems they were from the same batch of eggs to hatch. Please help?

That's what I was thinking. It may have some blurred vision or something.. but I'm worried it's getting worse. That's why I started trying the brewers yeast do you know of anything else that could help

Does it act like it knows it’s way around the other ducklings when they are close? If it’s vision is not good, I don’t know that there is anything you can do about it.

Are you giving it any poultry vitamins? If not, I would start.

Thank you for the reply. Yea it's fine when its next to the other duckling the odd time it will go in circles and when its swimming next to the other duckling but other then that it's fine. I'll have a look at the vitamins.

B complex liquid would be the best. If neurological poor thing maybe only seeing shadows and that is scaring it. Especially when it sees you at a distance. But hopefully the Bcomplex will help .you can pick up Bcomplex liquid at Walmart in human vitamin section Or TSC has it in the cattle dept.both given orally human 3 ml a day cattle 1ml daily. Over treats like thawed peas or mealworms seems to work to make sure it getting whole dose.

Did you ever get this figured out? We have a Muscovy that is doing the same thing. Hatched out 4 days ago and get lost. Acts like it’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer. When momma leaves the duck house, all the other ducklings follow right away and this one can’t seem to locate the large open doorway. It ends up stuck in a corner crying for mom or stumbling around in circles. It’s walking ok, I can’t find any issues physically on the outside, but it does lay down a lot and wants to just stay under mom.
