This is a lemon duck... Auto correct must be hungry... This is a Pekin Duckling at 4 weeks and a few days, fairly certain it is a female has she is very chatty & displays some kinda attributes of such based on what I've read. She is still having the horse sounding weeze w/ a pattern or beat similar to a dogs whimpering but auditorily sounds like the neighing of a horse mixed w/ some duckling peep/chirp/quacking ... Too descriptive? My fear is it is aspergillosis possibly, but it also may just be my over worrying along w/ the nutritional deficiencies from my lack of knowledge at the start & continued. No matter how much I spend hours read or watching videos in the subject, there seems to always be another conflicting source or a disclaiming caveat of sorts based on breeds, location etc... I can't be responsible for another loss of life, it's too beautiful a gift to not do my best, I almost feel like this was a Devine happening & maybe through the lessons learned giving this duck a good healthy life, I may receive my redemption & through that... My salvation? Amazing, the duck, these "Angels of the Pond" are teaching me so much & offering me opportunity to have & experience feelings I've not felt since before the war. Hey sorry for my most likely unwanted info, if I'm over stepping just ban or what admins feel right, I mean no harm just for some reason am able to open up here & I thank all for that

Where did you get your Pekin duckling? did you rescue her?

I wish you could put a video up so we could see and hear what your talking about with her breathing, but a lot of Pekins seem to breath heavy and even breath with their mouths open panting too. Can you tell us what you are feeding her and how you are keeping her is she in some kind of brooder or pen? about the only way to get aspergillois is from being kept on wet nasty bedding where she can't get fresh air. Bedding that is wet with ammonia can breed mold. I am pretty sure that is the way.

Oh! & this will be a in/out Duck, the plan while I have all layer out & digitally drafted in SketchUp, is a portion of the mini back yard has an enclosed(chick wire & hardware cloth) & this will be the site of her swimming "Pond" a Nd also an faux foraging run of either monthly or seasonal changing foraging goodies. Like planted berries and fruits from local nurseries which sell many carriers of fruit baring plants, if some actually take & last then score! I only want to this due to the fact that life in the city means the dirt & wats beneath topsoil is not always the safest & can contain hazard s like metal trash or chems. This will be joined with the inside via sliding glass door pet door opening where there will be a cordoned off area just for duck. The enclosure will obviously have an inside sleeping house & out side will be like an afternoon napping retreat after having third lunch. The area has cats racoon's & possums & is a major fly over/lay over spot for many a duck migrations & even some wild parrotkeets I think it is too, so shelter yes, safe & healthy at least best I can do w/ this current situation.

Sounds like your duckling is well cared for and loved. Try giving her some poultry vitamins in her water.

Thank you for your time in this conversation btw, ok so girlfriend is a county health inspector & at her work a presentation was put on by the main supplier of Beluit Eggs(a duck egg incubated to about 15-17 days then usually cooked in hot water & eaten has is, this is not in Vietnamese cultures has a traditional delicacy) at the end has a novelty he offered some out she of course took one. After being told it was a rare chance for it to hatch well umm here we are haha so yes in short a rescue from being food
