Welcome to being a duck momma
Hatcheries often send an extra chick in case one doesn’t make it through transit. I got 2 extra with my chickens and they both made it, so I ended up with 12 hens instead of 10. I also got an extra duckling with my order (16 instead of 15). Sadly one didn’t make it through.
Ducks can be fun and a lot of personality.

Ok so I ordered three female ducklings. I have one lonely adult Pekin so four seemed like a lot in my mind but worth it to get all female. Omg they sent me AN EXTRA duckling ha! Anyways here they are!
Two black Swedish (second is the extra)
One welsh harlequin
One Ancona
They are doing well so far! I’m cancelling all plans to just sit with them and bond for the foreseeable future

I’m gunna need a better pool for them.

@Cjsquiggle - I'm getting ducklings from Cackle too. I ordered all female. Is the extra they sent a female also or do they not say? I"m a little worried they will send me a male in with my females. Your babies are so cute and I"m glad you had a good experience with Cackle.

It says on sheet an extra of female black Swedish. I don’t think they would send male if I ordered sexed female.
