I had no idea the ducklings would come from Cali, but I know that some hatcheries get birds drop shipped from other places. So I wasn't concerned about that.When I called McMurray the woman I talked to said the way my duckies were shipped was normal, so maybe LV426 is correct in saying that McMurray gets ducklings from Metzer Farms.
By the way LV426, only the Cayugas were cheaper at Metzer, McMurray was cheaper on the other breeds I ordered. But it just goes to show that if you shop around a bit, you'll get good prices on whatever breed you happen to order.
