My ducks are coming home today! Advice welcome.

My car still stinks and makes me sneezy and they were only in it for an hour! Haha. Also I'm concerned they could hop out of their temporary fence if they want to. They were happy just to hang out and eat and drink for a bit before dark last night and they actually put themselves to bed in their new house! I wasn't sure what I'd be in for, but the ladies that owned them before me definitely cared well for them (sounds like they are just getting rid of the old and getting ready for more chicks and ducklings, and these Swedish are not really breeding stock in terms of markings). They all look healthy and are all very tame. They are easier to corral and pick up than my chickens by far. This is going to work out just fine. I just really need to be able to work on the fence during daylight hours!

ugh, so we had a bit of a wind storm which partially destroyed the structure I was building (not with the ducks in it thankfully), but husband managed to cobble together something a bit more protective for the time being. Their permanent little house is still in good shape and I am able to lock them safe inside it when it's dark. They were pretty scared yesterday (new place and wind storm combined), but this morning ran right out and happily started eating and drinking as soon as I opened their house. I just hope they are ok while I'm at work! Went to work early and will go home early which will give me some daylight construction time this afternoon... wish me luck.
