My ducks are not laying eggs!!!

Do you keep them in a secure run 24/7 and/or are there bushes, thick gras etc. in that run? Have you dug around in their bedding? If your ducks aren't kept in a secure run they are hiding their eggs more than likely. Ducks don't usually use things like nesting boxes consistently like chickens and love to lay in bushes, thick grass, weeds, random holes that they can fit in and even under things like a scrap pile of wood.

ok can you send some images of the molting so i knw
I won't be able till later tonight. But it is pretty obvious. They will be missing most of their wing feathers. Some will even have bald spots on the wings. Your yard will be littered with feathers.

@AstroDuck has a good point. They could be hiding the eggs from you. Mine will lay them elsewhere sometimes, and my dogs have eaten the eggs when they are at easy reach.

Since I have to keep the coop in lock down to keep the snakes out ( we have chicks in there) my girls have started laying behind the popular tress against the wood shed and hiding them very well too. I’ve been letting them out later but still have a Buff that holds hers in till she gets to that tree:rolleyes:

That's why I love muscovies - my girls lay properly in nest boxes. But, one summer one of my girls was sneaky and laid a nest in between some cut tree trunks and another laid a whole nest in the bean field. :D

This was an unsuccessful attempt but it's tried to eat my duck eggs on multiple occasions. This was Wednesday morning.

So far, my runners are only laying in the nest boxes. I guess they see the chickens do it and so they do too. Pretty funny.
