My ducks are stuck in the mail.. (updated with PICS!!)

I have a pair of adult black bellied tree ducks that are only 30 miles away that have to spend another night in the mail...

I tried to schedule a pick up at the sorting office they are at, but they wouldn't let me

I hope they arrive healthy and sound. Are they on a ventilated truck or in the sorting facility? How long have they been in transit?

Be prepared to get that 3AM phone call this morning if they are delivered the way other people's ducklings have been delivered.

Yesterday at 2:00pm is when they went in the mail, and not sure if they are on the truck or in the facility.. the truck gets at our post office at 7:30 am and you can bet I'll be setting there waiting for it!!

They had grow gel and grapes in with them so I'm thinking a 40 hour trip wont be too bad on them.. just wish I could have picked them up today since they got this close to home!!

That must be frustrating. But, it sounds like they're in good hands as long as they get good ventilation and keep warm. If they put a heat pack in with them and it's not freezing, they should be OK. Did you get them from a hatchery? I wonder because you said they had grapes with them.

They are full grown ducks!!! from a byc member! I'm more worried about them being too hot.. at least the weather is a little cooler atm..

Go get 'em! 30 miles is not too far. Rather than waiting for more possible delays, I'd be truckn' to the hold post office ASAP.

PS Make sure you let them know you are coming in advance!
