Ive only had ducks for a couple of years and only runner ducks so I can only speak from my own experience with them.
We raised two sets of ducklings and they both went through a super loud phase at about 3 months old and lasted a month or two. I think it started right before they started laying their eggs. Squaking when they would see me, when they would hear me and sometimes just because they could. I seriously didnt know ducks could be that loud!
We just got on a schedule giving them things to do during the day (mud puddles, clean pool, treats that take a long time to eat) and one day it just sort of stopped. I was so happy to finally be able to enjoy our ducks again! I know some ducks just make a lot of noise...i thought any day one of our neighbors would come knocking on the door to complain but thankfully never happened.
