My ducks butt..?

I've heard of this implant before. But she's been laying for 8 months now. No issues, she has been laying these past weeks too even with this issue going on. We finally decided to take her in because she was starting to lay around a bit more and I thought it may have been broody or her molting at first but this was likely the issue.

Thought she was just fat, which she is. But back in May she was about 5lbs. Weighed her today and she was 6 1/2. I'm curious to see what her weight is after they removed the fluid. View attachment 1107256

That is not a fat duck.... but that back end being so low and swollen was definitely an issue... sorry, I am not getting all my tags for some reason...

The excess liquid putting pressure on her reproductive organs might have caused her to get blocked, if she was internal laying there would have been more eggs inside...

She was pretty fat like that at 5.5LBS when we took her in for the check up back in May. It wasn't till maybe the last month or a little longer we started noticing her getting bigger.

Check up showed no issues or complications going on during that point. Fast forward 3 months here we are. Do you think it could have been a possibility of stress? Her sister was going through issues and they were seperated for months with little time to spend together and it's been a month now since she has passed. She had a week span where she stopped laying, and just over the past 2-3 weeks she's started laying again.

I remember making a post here about possibly feeling two eggs in her around that time, and that's probably what it was. I hope I wasn't the cause of this from feeling around.

Yup this would have been my original post back on June 22nd. She probably didn't lay again until... I'd say July 10th or so after her sister passed. The photo of her is from July 12th. Also the same time we introduced a new female to her. They both started laying together and have been since.

Possible after the first egg broke and shrunk off she was finally able to start laying again??

She cant internal lay one then regularly lay every other time could she? Idk it feels so weird she's been laying this whole time with that other one inside her.

You didn't cause it by feeling around... from what I have heard about internal laying, once they start they generally keep internal laying...
