my ducks, groucho and harpo

I have two ducks. One is black with a few white streaks and a tuft. Female/Harpo is her name. The other is buff colored with some white on chest. Male/groucho is his name. Three questions. What kind are they? If their eggs hatched (they are very much in love) what would the babies look like, him or her? Finally, is it possible that this female laid six eggs in one day... I think she did. dewdrop

It might be easier to identify your ducks if we could see a photo of them There are so many breeds- and then when you add in how many cross breed combinations there could be - the possibilities are too many. Sounds like your duck may have been hiding the eggs for a few days. They cant lay 6 in one day, there simply wouldnt be enough room in the reproductive tract for 6 fully formed eggs.

you are right, she is hiding eggs. I found three today under the straw. Does this mean she will sit them? And how can I tell. Will she be on them constantly or just at night when it is cooler? dewdrop
