My ducks had their first visitors

I was watching my ducks swimming this morning when a flock of 8 Canadian geese flew in. The ducks got out of the pond and I kept watching as they seemed to be having a stand off. The ducks got back in the pond and swam over to the geese. 4 of the geese got in the pond. Something spooked the other 4 geese and they flew off and the 4 geese in the pond went with them. They haven't come back but I'm watching for them.

Anybody have any problems with them not being good neighbors?

I Have read other threads about wild birds eating the duck food.

I don't think there would be a problem unless the ducks get close to nesting sights. Then they will be very protective.
