hey, my duck is shivering on one of her legs when standing on the other and panting it is very hot where I live almost 100 degrees at the moment but she is an indoor duck so she has access to air conditioning all the time. she also is new to laying eggs today would be her 8th egg so I'm wondering if that's the cause maybe she's stressed because of laying? and also she has been panting more recently lately usually she used to pant when it's hot or when she is thirsty and when I turn on the ac or give her water it goes away but now even with the ac on and her drinking ice water all the time she is still panting and shivering at times. and she only pants when she's sitting down or trying to sleep the rest of the day when she's up playing she doesn't do it. i have attached a video hopefully it's going to work.

What are you feeding her? Age? And are you using oyster shell for extra calcium? Did you or are you supplementing with niacin?
she gets her duck feed which is made out of ground corn I'm pretty sure and she eats veggies and mealworms every day just the normal teats peas tomatoes lettuce. and yeah I've been giving her oyster shells and she loves them. I'm not really sure what niacin is or where I can get it or what it's used for so no I haven't:hmm. do you think that is the reason or could there be other things?

oh and she is entering her 7th month!

Niacin is so very important for leg health. here is some info https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/niacin-deficiency-in-waterfowl.1367557/
Is the only ingredient in her duck feed ground corn? Corn is mainly starch and really doesn't have a lot of nutritional value. It's okay for a treat but not for feeding as the main diet.
Could she have injured herself somehow? any excessive heat in her leg and no wound or swelling?
I'm not sure about the panting unless she is in pain doesn't sound like she could be hot.

everything looks normal there isn't any swelling she doesn't shake like that all the time it's only like sometimes for example that video taken of her was like an hour before she laid and after she laid she stopped shaking and panting she slept calmly. but today morning she was shivering slightly so it comes and goes is that the same for niacin deficiency?

This sounds a lot like an egg laying issues. The fact that she does better in the water, as water often helps them lay eggs. The shaking is timed with the laying of eggs as suggests it had something to do with egg laying. Usually they pump their tail or look like they are straining when they have egg laying issues. Issues with egg laying can cause problem with their legs if the egg pinches a nerve. Usually it goes away after laying an egg. It sounds like she is eating a good amount of calcium.

If you have access to an avian vet, that may be a good option. A vet would be able to tell if she is having an issue laying internally or other reproductive issues.

@Isaac 0 may know what is going. This one sounds a bit more unusual.
