my EEs -- what are they?

pips&peeps :

Well, it does have the characteristics of your typical EE. You should of posted that pic first!

That is also the down color of purebred silver ameraucana chicks. (just a tidbit of info for inquiring minds)

It will probably lay a khaki egg.

I posted that pic when he hatched and was told he looked like an EE. Unfortunately, since his comb is getting bigger by the day, it's unlikely he'll lay eggs of any color. Wouldn't you just know that out of 19 chicks, I have only a half dozen or so pullets and the two that could have laid non-brown eggs both look like roos.

Isn't life supposed to be fair???

my bad........

It's ok -- you weren't here then, he hatched a couple weeks before you joined us.

(glad you're here now)

Here's a better body shot at 5 weeks...

I do wish he was friendlier. I haven't been able to touch him since he was about 2 weeks old -- and that took a lot of effort. A friend fell in love with his chick pic and would be very upset if he went to the processor with any other roos who don't find new homes, but the last thing I need is a roo who can't be handled.
