Ahh, I'll just tell ya! Mantids! I found this praying mantis egg case at my grandma's weeks ago and brought it home and stuck it in a jar. I've been checking it every so often and nothing. I found a cocoon on my beets a couple weeks ago so I tossed it in there as well. I went out this morning to help my dad and checked.... BABIES! Mantids AND a moth!

These little buggers are going in the garden, but one or two might stay with me for a while.

The moth, well it flew off when I opened the jar.

Hi, Juls! It really is, I've never seen them hatching before. I've caught itty bitty ones, but never this tiny! You can buy egg cases online all over. If not, give me a shout out next year. We've got them all over, I'd be glad to pick one off a plant for you.

LOL, Amanda! I was just thinking the same thing. Aliens, but awesome aliens.

Tiffany, I think they're adorable too. Most people wouldnt agree with me, haha. This is the first case I noticed, but I know there are more out there. Im anxious to see how many I find in my garden this year.

WOW!!!!
that is the coolest thing ever! I had as pets giant african millipedes before. Pretty cool to observe. Couldn't turn "em loose though : )

Aww lucky butt, I used to have a couple as pets when I was younger. Of course as a kid I went outside to catch its food instead of just buying it at the feed store lol. I love them.
