And I am letting them settle. Any pointers before I set them? Any pointers about the incubating process or hatching process? This is my first time with quail and I am really excited.

Just make sure your incubator is set right, let them set for about 12 hours, then put them in the incubator and watch them like a hawk for the next 30 hours so when they get up to temp the internal temp will not change.

My dog made scooby snacks out of 5 of my eggs so not I only have 36. I turned my back for 2 seconds and when I came back they were missing. I couldnt figure out where they went and then she came to see me and had egg shell all over her chin

Yes. She has puppies that I don't want to bottle feed. I was mad for a moment and then I laughed. I wish I would have taken a pic of her. It looked like her entire chin was made of egg shell.

When I was a child, I had a red bone hound as a pet. Easter came and all the relatives came to our farm for dinner and hunt Easter eggs. You guessed it, that ol hound followed the Easter bunny around and ate every egg. Just left bits of shell behind. The only egg found that day was hidden inside a concrete block. The hound could stick nose in the block but could'nt get the egg out....Needless to say, it was tramatic for the younger kids. My dog was not the belle of the ball either. He just sat there, all fat on who knows how many eggs, with a "WHAT ?" look on his face. Once a dog gets a taste of egg, it dont seem like they ever get there fill of them. Bill
