My eggs seem to have lost an air sack

my coutournix quail eggs are completely black on the inside. There is no air sac. Any sugggestions

I have only hatched a few times, but I have lost a few in the egg when they got too big and the air sac was gone.

Sounds odd. Have you cracked the eggs (not incubated ones of course) to verify?
If there truly is no air sac, I'm thinking I would get new quail stock from a different source than before.

Also, are they younger or very old birds? It might just be the oviduct acting odd due to hormonal changes. Just a thought.

The eggs are 15 days into the hatch. I candled them yesterday.

Can you get a few pictures of what you are seeing?

In a dark room with a phone flashlight on the egg?

The top picture is the originally fertile egg. It is less bright. You can’t see through the shell

This doesn't look like a fertile developed egg to me but it could just be the picture.
