So, I bought two dozen silkie eggs from CJ Silkies, they were shipped all the way from Pennsylvania to California! And after that long trip, and not being handled too carefully in the mail, I had 18 survivors! I was thrilled! Her eggs are tough!! Four of those survivors had detached air cells too. Well, at about day 11, which was a Sunday, there was a power outage in my area, they said it would be on in 6 hours, then 8, then they said Tuesday...So after 17 hours I finally took them to a friend's in town. I wish I had done it sooner, but I couldn't get back to the house because of errands that needed doing in town. I was afraid I would have lost all my eggs, but then I went and picked them up the next day when our power finally did come back on. The next day I hesitantly decided to check the eggs, and only four actually died during the power outage! I am not excited that they died, I was very sad, but I was afraid that I was going to lose at least half, if not all...I wonder if those four who died, were the ones with the detached air cells, I didn't think about that, but I couldn't see any air cell moving around in any of the eggs anymore.
So, I am now on day 14 with my 14 surviving CJ Silkie eggs! I am very excited about these eggs, I just had to share, and let you all know how tough her little eggs are!!

Hooray! That is very encouraging - we lost power on day 9 and I rushed my bator to a location that had electricity to plug it in. They're too big now (day 15) to see a whole lot of movement so I'm just PRAYING that most of them have survived. Your post gives me new hope! Wishing you the best and I'll be checking for pictures!!!

YAY! I've got two dozen coming from CJ at the end of April and I'm SO excited!!! I've got a test hatch in my new homemade bator right now to make sure it's working properly and so far it's been awesome! Couldn't get much steadier

Glad to hear they are tough little ones... Although I REALLY hope the postal service is a little more careful with mine than it sounds like they were with yours.... So frustrating when they just don't care!

I know! I am so ridiculously lucky with these eggs! Haha

Yeah Beckim5! Don't give up yet, if mine lasted that long, yours definitely have a good chance of being okay too!
Jettgirl, I really hope the postal service is more gentler on your eggs too! You won't be disappointed with these eggs, they are amazingly resilient. We go in to lockdown on Sunday, I am very excited!
Thanks again CJ, I shall definitely keep you and everyone else posted!!

It is lockdown day! But my air cells are ridiculously big I think due to shipping. I had their humidity at a constant 50% and I am now upping the humidity to be around 70-75%.
We shall see how things go, I am incredibly nervous!

It is day 19...20? I guess 20 since it is now midnight haha. Anyways I hear tapping and peeping and an egg is rocking!! It looks like there shall be pipping tonight! Yaaay! Here is a pic inside the incubator...not much to see but I am all excited anyways haha

The black lavender split egg on the top right is the one doing all the partying inside his little shell

And just cause I love the blue light from my computer fan/incubator fan here is a pic without my phone flash on

Not as easy to see, but I still find it a fun picture!
Hopefully I shall have chicks sometime tomorrow!
Oh! And because I can, here is a picture when I first put the eggs in my incubator
