Both my boys, 8 and 12 own gas masks. Other than the game store, the army surplus store is their favorite place. We have a nerf machine gun, at least two airsoft guns, and more nerf bullets than you can believe. We also have spy wear toys, and tents (current count for the family is 6 tents I believe), binoculars, survival kits, knifes, hardhats, head lamps, more camo than any militia and other fine things. The flow of testosterone in this house is sometimes overwhelming.
For boys eight birthdays our standard gift for parties is binoculars. They can be found at Target, Walmart and any sporting goods store starting at about $10.
