Processed the two male ducklings gonna try selling the females before I process them because skinning is a pain and I hate it lol

Also had a quail get scalped not sure why they been together for months so now shes roaming free inside the pen while the others are caged for the winter this was a few days ago she can see again

Found a few pumkins two smaller ones where in a parking lot on the egde and the bigger ones where thrown in a ditch!

The quail healed up quickly

and sold the two pekin ducking females for $20 each so dont have to process them now

Culled the chocolate rooster and the chocolate hen 38 weeks no egg...not wasting anymore feed on that and the rooster wouldnt mate cant see feeding that for the only job it has... Rats are eating the rooster as tried skinning that... Wasnt gonna take hours for rubber skin so they wont need food for about a week or two

Yesterday my 5-10-20 blue laced red rooster died hes been off for weeks sounded like he had something stuck in his throat. So down to two males now. Have eggs in my bator power went off twice this week already. The chicks I hatched aint growing because this feed is junk now and the price is twice as much. Theres no protein in it anymore. So I'm already over this year. Prolly wont be posting much anymore on this thread as I'm just done. Not really worth updating maybe when they all die i will.

Its so hard to decide who to keep and who not to keep as Im trying to keep my number at about 20 some of my hens are not going anywhere ever but other I need to rotate out like this is the safe keep list
My F3 hen shes the grandaughter of the rooster two dogs killed in 2015 so shes not going anywhere she was hatched 12-08-16

So this is my entire chicken flock some staying some going some will be breeders etc whatever pullets dont sell will be processed aswell I can't seem to even give away pullets because everyone dumps their birds off at the end of the year just to go buy cheap tsc in the spring.I don't get it but whatever they will fill my freezer as I dont wanna waste them and most of my chickens are for food until I make the perfect flock which will have a lavender and a tolbunt wyandotte in it. I feel no one really is this invested in chickens like I am. So if anyone wants to follow along I will update this as time goes on if not I still will update this as will make a nice journal for me. As my line goes back quite a bit can do backgrounds on certain birds as well if anyones interested.

Only thing thats happened with the main flock is I cleaned two coops my silkies and my hen coop males are separated so I can sell hens then they get peocessed or sold

amd also kicked my 3 weeks old in a coop needed my brooder for an over large hatch of 29/34 so no heat for them but they keep eachother warm and are in my baby coop a 2x2 it has a small pen attached but they to small for outside play
