I noticed this a few days ago, but it's probable that it's been going on at least a week or two and I didnt notice. I did scare my roo into flying and crashing into her about 2 weeks ago, and I thought she broke her neck or something, cuz she started running really weird, but then seemed to be ok just shaken up.

Anyhow now I'm looking at her right foot and cant tell what's wrong.
She lifts her toes upward on the bad right foot, and puts her foot down very gingerly with lifted toes and then they kind of settle flat. When she's takes steps she uses that leg quickly and often stands on her good leg for a few extra seconds before putting foot down. She also tends to put injured leg/foot in front of or crossing the other.

This being said, she still runs when she needs to, and can still jump a few feet off the ground without much issue. But I can tell there is something wrong. Any ideas or suggestions on what I need to look for or test?

I'm really sad that it's my favorite hen, she's the most to breed standard and by far the friendliest bird I have. She's the only one that let's me "pet" her without much fuss.

I don't think there's much to do but give it time. Maybe bring her in somewhere warm and give her extra treats and some electrolytes in her water while she heals. (If you're up for that.)

I had a hen with a bad upper leg break from a bobcat attack who I was pretty sure was going to die, but I isolated her and put her under a heat lamp with some chicks I had at the time, and she eventually recovered and learned to walk on one leg. She could get to food and water, hop around in the yard a bit, get back up the ramp at night, and get to the nest boxes. I kept her for 2 more years.

Good luck to your little hop-along!

New symptom I just noticed. When she is perched on an object where her toes overhang. Her outer right toe sticks straight out in the air like she doesn't want to/or cant bend it down.
Makes me sad seeing her in apparent pain :(
