My favorite hen is sick Please help!*poo pic* (sorry)

Go Princess! Pooing up a storm!
How do you get her to swallow the pill? Or do you just hide it in with other food and she eats it?

Spottedcrow, I was surprised the vet saw her as well. She looks really young, (then again, pretty much everybody looks young to me nowadays)
but seemed to know her stuff.

Maybe with 9000 members we could band together and get kids interested in becoming poultry vets?

"poultry" vets tend to treat the flock and not the individual bird (livestock not pet)...much of the treatment measures come from avian specialist veterinarians (just try to get THEM interested in poulty) ... the information is there but unfortunately the means to utilize it is often lacking.

Meriruka, I have to pry her mouth open and drop it in. Bingo! She swallows it and that's all there is to it. Takes 3 seconds! How is Rosemary this afternoon?

Diana, my vet is an exotic animal vet and Princess is a hit whenever I take her. The receptionist says she can't stop petting her, she's so soft! I realize it's a rarity to have a vet like mine in the area. I count my blessings. By the way, they have several other chicken patients as well as parrots, turtles, lizards, bunnies, snakes, etc. etc.

No fair! I get syringes and refrigerated liquid.
Well, I hope P. recovers!
Rosemary is acting fairly normally, but her poo looks like shes not digesting things completely. There are whole seeds coming out (sunflower, I think) The last two nights , she's been back out with her buddies, which I think is much less stressful for her. We decided if she goes downhill again, the problem probably can't be fixed. So we'll let her do what she enjoys and eat whatever she wants until she's too ill, then put her to sleep.
Here's a pic of her in her prime:
