Wow! Thank you for the warm welcome messages!! And for the jokes LOL
I've been stalking this group for a long time. I know there are some more people from Rockwall, because I found a few posts about our ordinances not allowing backyard chickens.
Also, when I was about to get my hatching eggs to have cute as a button quail, searches took me here. Same with my Coturnix. I will post pictures as soon as I can.

before a Realtor's complaint forced the city inspector (who already KNEW about the goats) to send me a letter insisting the goats leave within 30 days. Well, I couldn't let them move by themselves, now could I?

People can be SO mean sometimes I hope Karma gets them. I'm lucky I've been volunteering since I moved here and the pet rescue people know me well (we have fostered over 100 pets in 4-5 years)
I had a visit from the Animal Services officer a couple of weeks ago because someone reported that my minis don't have any food available... just because they didn't see a round hay bale - which I avoid because I don't have enough horses to eat it and if it becomes moldy it's really bad for them- She told me she drives by my house often and she already saw my horses and my 2 pygmy goats... but now that someone reported me, one of the horses has to go because you can only keep 4.

Well, I don't want to turn this post into a rant, but I totally understand you. Sometimes we are just minding our own business, trying not to bother anybody and do something good and poof! Suddenly someone makes us look like the bad guys.

These are some of my minis...
One of these days if you guys want, I can tell how did I get into this mini horse rescue thing.
I don't just go and bail out a horse from the kill pen. I follow them on Facebook, and I keep an eye on the horses nobody else wants. 3 of my 5 minis were last minute purchases before they were sent to the truck that takes them to slaughter.
The other two, mother and baby - the baby is the one on the before and after pictures- they didn't even have the chance to be shown on FB.
They were starved and very sick when they arrived to the kill pen. The KP owner didn't list them and they were ready to be shipped to slaughter.
I saw them because I was picking up the last mini I took before moving here.

And I just couldn't let them there.
I've received some criticism because I am new at horse ownership and yes, I will make some mistakes. But hey, better with a newbie than put in a cattle truck and shipped to Mexico, right?

They're beautiful @cuquitina! The before and after pictures are amazing, you've done well for them. Had to laugh at the "attack" sign on the fence!

Thank you!! I love these fuzzy babies by pieces. They have been through a lot and 2 of them are not very friendly, more on the wild side. But I don't care, they will eventually come along and I have made some good friends that give me advice and training tips.

The sign is awesome, isn't it! LOL there are some similar things for chickens and ducks.
