Well, I have been following this forum for a while. Always ended up here when looking for specific information and specially, experiences from other people about birds.

Almost forgot to say we live in Rockwall, TX near Dallas.

Following the useful template I found after confirming my e-mail:

1. I am not really new to chickens, but don't have any of them yet. I do have other birds, though.

2. I do have Coturnix and Button quail, and 12 ducklings. They are about to be 1 month old.

3. I can differentiate some breeds now that my ducklings are growing: cayuga, Indian runner, jumbo Pekin and Swedish blue.

4. I also have a few rescued animals. 5 of them are miniature horses from a Kill pen.
We moved 3 months ago just in order to be able to keep them and start having chickens and ducks.

I just love this forum, so much useful information and great people.

I think I've found a kindred spirit -- I bought my acreage so my miniature goats would have a home!! They had lived in town on my wooded lot for four years before a Realtor's complaint forced the city inspector (who already KNEW about the goats) to send me a letter insisting the goats leave within 30 days. Well, I couldn't let them move by themselves, now could I?

I have chickens, runner ducks and geese, but I was toying with the idea of button quail. They are so adorable-looking.

Congrats on fully joining the group. You're right -- it is full of useful information and great people!
