Everything went very well. Praise the Lord
the Doctor told David that it could not have gone smoother than it did, and that I didn't bleed much.

He went in and shaved the disc,
inserted a spacer to separate he vertebrae,
put a plate on the vertebrae to fuse them and secured them with screws.

There was a rather large bone spur that he had to also shave down that was pushing on my spinal cord.

here is Celeste and I a couple of hours after my surgery

So glad everything is going good! Rest well so you can get back to normal! Celeste is a beautiful name and she is very pretty....you too especially after surgery!!!

Fisher Glad to hear all went well. I had what sounds like the same thing in 2000. The recovery takes a while. Now I know different doctors have different outlooks but mine had me do a lot of walking. Like The day after surgery I had to walk one hall of the hospital and the next day the loop and on day 3 went home then by end of week 1 it was 1 mile a day and at week 2-3 it was 2 miles. My doc didn't have me go to a Physical TERRORIST he just had me do lots of walking. I would guess your repair was at L4-L5 that was mine and the most common. It will never be as good as new but if you get pain relief and it is better than before surgery that is about the best you can hope for on this kind of stuff.
Good luck and take care.
Rob
