My BO's have settled in to be very consistent layers. BO 1 started Jan 12th and has laid an egg every single day since. BO 2 started a month ago and has only missed 3-4 days since. Both were 5.5 months old when they laid their first egg. I brought in their eggs earlier this morning and thought we were done for the day but no, wait, there's more! A short time ago I noticed my RIR pullet checking out the nest box and a short time later there it was - her very first egg! She will be 5 months old tomorrow. Not only that, but my little BR pullet has been showing a lot of interest in the nest box today too, so I don't think I'm too far from having 4 layers. For the first time since we started getting our own eggs, I have 2 cartons full in the fridge and had to start a third. Hmmm...guess I better go check out the egg recipes forum...
