My first attempt at building a bator

First off I copyed the design from MissPrissy

This is a old Coleman cooler that we havent used in years

Has a nice little door so you dont have to open the whole thing up

Took one of my wifes good bowls hope she doesnt find out.
Hardware cloth done. After the second cut on my finger I got out the leather gloves.

Drilled the hole for the lamp kit

Put the lamp kit in.

Built the guard over the bulb

Cut the hole in the lid for the glass. The cooler is backwards, anyone see a problem here?

For right now that is correct, as I havent worked since march, seems no one in hiring network enginneers right now, so I decided to play with some chickens.
 
I dont think so, with that little door in the lid I'm not losing that much heat and im running a 60w bulb so it does recover pretty quick.
 
I have two thermometers in there now and one shows 104.8 it has a probe and the other one pictured shows 98 not sure where to go with this now.
 
My though is to make it safe,so you don't get electrocuted,or burn your house down.You have electricity metal & moisture,you need a ground fault circuit interrupter or (GFIC) is a safety device that continually compares the amout of current flowing,any imbalance indicates leakage in the system. If the GFIC detects as little as.005 amp difference in the current it breaks the circuit in a 40th of a second. You need to wire in ground wires to the light & fan. You can get the GFIC for under $20.00 at a lumber company,home repair, or electric & heating store.
Your incubator should get a thermostat to. Looks like your be hatching eggs soon,
