I have a batch of my first pullets nearing two weeks old and I am worried about ones feet! She seems to walk fine and isn't appearing to be in any pain! Is this normal?? Please help!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! You might want to post in the Emergencies forum about her www.backyardchickens.com/f/10/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures and see if they suggest taping the toes at her age, and here is a nice website on leg problems in chicks and some ways to tape them etc https://sites.google.com/a/poultrypedia.com/poultrypedia/poultry-podiatry that curled toe is not right but it is not uncommon ... if it doesn't get any worse she shouldn't have any real problems from it, just need to keep an eye on her toenails since she may not wear them down correctly. What sort of flooring do you have them on now?

Welcome to BYC!

I am so sorry about your hen! It looks like she may have been kept in a cage too long deforming the feet and making them sore. But I would follow Kelsies advice and post this in our emergency section for more input on this.

I hope she heals soon.

Glad you joined us! Curled toes can be fixed easily by taping them. There are some threads on the topic here, if you type "curled toes" into the search bar above you can pull up a list of them.

Welcome to BYC. At her age and given that her feet do not look too bad, I would not work on them if she were mine. Good luck.
