Quite a few of my Brahmas lay theirs on the floor from time to time I have a large dog crate I put a piece of plywood on as a work table I put shavings those that layed on the floor are using the open dog crateWhen I went to let the chickens out at 8am this morning she had already laid her egg...on the floor...again.
At least it wasn't cracked or eaten!
heck of an idea there I am putting a second coop up a smaller version of my geodesic barn and main coop mine use only two top nesting boxes or the dog crate we have several totes like that I am only putting 6 to 8 bards in it, I think maybe I will just give them two or three of those instead and may through a couple in the main coop getting rid of wood nesting boxes we built that they don't use.![]()
