I got my first call ducks in the mail today, from destiny_56085! I wanted butterscotch calls, and I'm so happy to have this gorgeous, adorable little pair.

I was so nervous that something would happen to them in the mail, but they arrived nice and safe and healthy, and thankfully were only on their journey for twenty-two hours. I'm letting them relax and not handling them much for the next few days so they can de-stress, so these pictures are rather crummy, but I just had to show them off! They're just in this cage temporarily at night, during the day they get to go in a pen in the grass. I have a dog kennel they'll be sharing with the seramas once I get it ready.

The male's beak got some shavings on it, he's actually otherwise quite clean, as they got a bath right when they arrived.

I love them! They're so adorable!

I can't wait to handle them more once they've recovered from their journey.

You're sooooo lucky! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy!

Thank you, they are! I really adore this color of call duck. I saw most of the varieties of call duck at the PPBA Stockton show (my first exposure to call ducks) and I was so in love with the butterscotches I just decided I needed to have a pair. I'm so happy with them!

They're so cyooot. I bet you can't wait until they've settled in and become the noisiest-most-demanding-of-your-attention-little-pests of your flock!!! (speaking as a call duck owner! My three are currently outside the back door quacking for peas!!)
Send us more pictures. Want to see how they get onnnnnn!

Sooo glad you like them. My little sister went through a phase where she had to have every color imaginable. My mom bought these at a show from Leroy Swenson of Wild Plum Waterfowl. My lil sister is now in her 1st year of college and could care less about birds anymore. I agree with priss about them being noisy, messy, and demanding. I am also the one stuck taking care of them. We agreed to keep just 1 trio of white calls and all the rest are going. There's no way I was separating each color off into individual breeding pens this spring. I still have 1 pair of really nice snowys and 1 pq white drake left to get rid of.

I'm sure both of them will be in culture shock for a while. We had sub zero temps and haven't seen grass since november up here. I know the lil drake is friendly. He was always the first one at my feet when I went to refill the pools every morning. I know they love sweet corn. My dad runs the local stand for the Legion every summer. All the stuff that doesn't get sold gets brought out for our ducks and geese to munch on.

Aww precious!! I love the butterscotch color too, especially the cute little face stripes on the ladies. Can't wait to see more pictures!

I just love them! They're already starting to quack at me when I go to visit them. I can promise this isn't just a phase for me! They have a home for life. I've been into poultry for eleven years now, and instead of getting less obsessed I get more and more obsessed!

I hope you find a good home for your snowy pair and white drake. I would take them as well if I could afford it! Unfortunately, all the rest of my money is going to chicken coop expansion and setting up the dog kennel for these guys.

Noisy, messy, and demanding sounds great to me! I greatly prefer outgoing birds (even if they're high maintenance) to shy, quiet birds. They'll get a ton of attention and love here, and while I'm not really into showing, I might consider entering them in the local fair here.

They'll probably adjust soon enough (though it probably feels hot them now, with weather in the 70s), and I'll be sure to give them some sweet corn! Thanks again, they'll be spoiled rotten here.

Everyone else, thank you for all the sweet comments! I hope you all get butterscotch calls of your own someday.
