My first call ducks! :D

Amy has very nice stock. I have some of her silkies, and keep pestering her for more. You should see the chicks a roo from her is producing

... all but two so far have very nice vaults and all but ONE have correct toes! How bout them apples! I am so happy with what I got from her.

Lol...my sister has also been through 3 fairly new cars within the last year and a half. She has the attention span of a mosquito sometimes. She's been through call ducks, jersey wooley rabbits, lionhead rabbits, and lots of pigeons. Somehow my mom and I get stuck taking care of it all. She brought home a boxer puppy just before Christmas. She's in college 2 hours away and comes home weekends only. Its a lil terror too. My parents and I live across town from each other so we have to take turns puppysitting.

Ducks really aren't my thing. I have a few chocolate muscovies that are outdoor birds to call my own. They can handle the cold and aren't subject to being picked up by a eagle/fox like a call would. I also take care of my brother's rouens and african geese. They have personality too but just aren't as noisy as those lil buggers.

Glad they went to a good home!

TY Jen.... as soon as it gets warm enough to ship chicks. I'm thinking roughly end of May.... Now the silkies are my true love (next to my horses of course).

Ah, I know the type. My brother is the same way. Gets into things and out of them constantly! Too bad she kept getting into animals and leaving them with you. That seems awfully rude... Getting into animals as a temporary fad is definitely not the way to go about it.

Haha, I can understand why one wouldn't care for ducks. They are awfully messy and can be quite loud! That's why I only keep them in small numbers, but I do really enjoy them in those small numbers. I might get one more call hen if I happen across one locally (or find one I want at a show), but I think that'll be it as far as ducks go for now. Someday I'd like some mandarins and wood ducks, but that'll be in the not-so-near future after I am actually a veterinarian and own my own property. You can bet my poultry collection will be quite extensive then! Fancy pheasants and exotics and all kinds of interesting things.

Silkies are lovely! I only have one, but she's a darling little bird, and silkies are just so sweet it's almost impossible not to love them. I'll have to keep an eye out for photos of your birds.

It was my husband who got our ducks. I really didn't want the trouble (I also know I get attached to little animals too quickly and worry about them all the time).
I do worry about them all the time but I looooove them. They have very separate little personalities. Completely their own little people. And their butts look cute when they bob for peas in the pool!
Ours are out there right now tormenting the neighbour's dog by quacking 'come and have a go if you think you're hard enough' through the holes in the fence! (Poor dog. It's ancient and very patient and cannot in any way get into our garden!)
Ducks are funny little people.
Funny little NOISY people!
Have a great time with those cuties. I love her go faster stripes. Just gorgeous!
