My first Coop

You would be suprised what wildlife live in "residential areas"! A coon could go through that chicken wire pretty quick! A mature possum probably could also. Coyotes and skunks, even bobcats can live in residential areas. Not to mention dogs! So, beef up that wire with some hardware cloth or 1x2 welded cage wire (over the whole run, not just the bottom...coons climb) and you will have a nice secure run for your chickens. If you screwed a big hook into the front of the frame, could you pull it with your lawnmower to move it around your yard? That would be nice for your chickens and your yard!

Granted ive only had my new hens in there cage for few days, But I cant get them to go up the ladder to the top part. In the top is a nesting box an another roost. They just stay in the bottom part and one sleep in the grass and the other sleep on the roosting bar in the bottom. Should I give them some time to try to find out they can go up there.

Awesome work on a great tractor. What is the smaller of the 2 popdoors for? Don't tell me! It's a door for the baby chicks!! How thoughtful you are!

What a popular place....Still no luck getting my hens up the ladder and into the coop

whenever I move my ladies into a new coop, I keep them locked in the actual coop for a couple of days until they figure out where to roost. Then I let them out into the run and they put themselves to bed every night. Nice coop
