This morning I was on my deck watering plants when I heard a strange noise coming from the 3 silkies' chicken tractor. I looked up and it happened two more times ... eer eer eeeeeerrrrrhhh! My 3 1/2 month old silkie was crowing!

I was upset and excited at the same time. I love that bird. I've suspected that he was indeed a he, but I've read repeatedly that silkies are hard to sex and often times you can't tell for sure until they crow or lay. So 1 down, 2 to go. I've sworn from the beginning that I wouldn't have a rooster for fear of hacking the neighbors off. Is there any chance that silkie roos don't crow as loud?

This is the best chicken of them all and I would be heartbroken if he had to go

I'd keep him til they complain, then deny! If you can't tell it's a rooster, maybe they can't either. Unless they catch him in the act maybe you can get away with it. " gee it can't be one of mine, see .. they're all hens" lol
