(My First Double Yolker!!!) Keeping updated... RESULTS OF CANDLING

Quote:
What would that do? I really don't understand what is going on. The temp reads good, but the humidity doesn't. The lid is on right, and there is more water in there than needs to be (Even more than would be needed for the last three days... and it's still reading low!) What is going on??? I have the new thermometer/hygrometer in there, plus put a new battery in the old one, and it's still not reading right. ARGH!!!!!!

Search BYC for calibration of HYGROMETER.

Alrighty. Eggs were put in the bator at 9:45 this morning. We plan to candle on days 8 and 14, and will post to let you all know. In total, we have 1 double yolker laid by Gloria, and two more normal sized eggs from her... and 2 of miss Mable's eggs, that's 5 eggs... 6 possible chicks. We shall see what happens!

I have a canon power shot A560 digital camera... how do I take pics of the candled eggs and have what we see be visible? I'd like to post pics if I can get them.

Good luck! I put a double yolker in with 5 others on sat pm. Its a large egg. None of the hens I have put in a breeding pen have ever layed a double.

Sunday... Jan. 30th - Everything in order... eggs went in at 9:45 am
Monday... Jan. 31st - Everything still in good order
Tuesday... Feb. 1st - Everything is great... turning eggs twice per day
Wednesday... Feb. 2nd - No power outages, looking good... still not out of the snow storm... but things are doing good.

Why are you only turning them twice a day? They should be turned 3 times a day or more and always an odd number so that they are not sitting in the same spot at the same time each day...
