They aren't ugly, the camera was too close to their beak(bill) whatever it's called on ducks. I've seen plenty of human pictures where the camera was too close and they appear to have noses like a zeppelin. Or ears like Dumbo.

I have read tho ducks are much messier than chicks because allegedly they have um, how to put it delicately "projectile poos" that can blast out quite a distance. Just don't stand behind them.

See, so much better looking now that they've dried off. Congrats on a great hatch

Ducklings are so much fun, but definitely messier than chickens

I've raised several ducklings. Basically food and water all the time. Keep them under a brooder lamp for the first 3 weeks. Each week, decrease the temperature. There's a Cornell paper about raising ducks somewhere. (Search Cornell and ducklings and brooder).

They're really easy and a lot of fun. Yeah, they're very messy, but comparing chickens and ducks are like comparing apples and oranges.

Your telling me, OMG, I had them in the incubator last night so that the last one can dry off, This morning they were ALL wet. They all jumped in the water dish, the thing was only about an 1/8 of an inch tall. They had spilled it and the humidity was reading 95 , So out they all went. I got paper towels dried them off and made them a spot with the Chickens. I tried to put them in with the chickens but the chickens kept poking at them and I was afraid they may end up poking at the little ducks eyes and injure them. So a split the cage and got them cozy and warm. They LOOK absolutely cute now. Let me go get some pictures. Your gonna love this...
