ok just cracked open the first egg. just one egg. hubby wanted me to scramble it up and me,him and our daughter to all eat some. anyway i cracked it and the yolk had a spot in it. not a red but kinda yellowish whitish. what is that and is it ok to eat?

Eat it up, it is just a part of the egg, totally normal, won't have a taste other than an egg taste and won;t affect the way it cooks up one bit.

we did it was yummy. hubby said he would like to have about 4 of them with some toast! maybe we will get 4 soon. petunia just laid one yesterday and none today boohoo!

I have only been keeping chickens for 7 months but I read a great post talking about the anatomy of a chicken and how eggs are layed. They explained the white stuff as sluffed of cells that get caught up with the yoke as it's moving down before the shell is applied, perfectly safe to eat, enjoy.
